Welcome! I’m Dr. Jaime Lewis.
I’m a dual board physician in palliative care and lifestyle medicine and certified yoga therapist in Chicago, IL.
I help people who are living with daily pain, chronic stress, and serious illness, to integrate well-rounded and healthful lifestyle routines into their day, that have been proven to reduce pain, improve physical mobility, lessen mental stress, and enhance overall quality of life.
I have been working in palliative medicine for over 13 years and cared for many patients who struggled with the physical, mental, and emotional burdens that come from serious illness.
Pain from an illness, side effects from a treatment, and overwhelm with trying to manage multiple medications and a variety of medical appointments. They would come to clinic not just needing relief from physical symptoms but also relief from just trying to manage it all.
“Is there something I can do to help my pain, that’s not a pill?”
“What can I do on my own to feel better?”
“I’m tired of having to take all of these pills.”
As more patients asked me for non-pill ways to feel better, I became motivated to adapt and expand how I care for patients- in ways that they are actually seeking.
Now I am excited to offer a different kind of practice, where the scientific research of lifestyle change, the traditional philosophy of palliative care, and the modern field of yoga therapy, all come together to help you relieve suffering, restore balance, and enhance life.
If this resonates with you, I hope you’ll take the step and work with me.
Be well,
Jaime Lewis, MD

Lifestyle Focused Palliative Care
Palliative medicine is a medical field focused on improving the quality of life of people living with chronic or serious illnesses.
Palliative care was originally designed to help people feel better in body, mind, and spirit, and to support patients and their families in their search for meaning throughout the course of illness.
Lifestyle medicine utilizes intensive lifestyle changes in eating patterns, exercise and movement, sleep quality, and stress management to reduce symptom burden, improve chronic health conditions, and overall enhance quality of life.

Therapeutic Yoga
The field of yoga therapy customizes traditional yoga practices, like physical postures, meditation, breath work, and relaxation techniques, to the individual to promote wellbeing, optimize daily function, and alleviate physical and psychological suffering in people experiencing chronic health conditions.
This isn’t your typical yoga class.
These sessions are designed just for you.
